Still working on the book cover re-dos. Wasn't able to match up the turquoise title with the moon perfectly on Pirate Bride, so we went back to white. We took out the title ribbons to show more of her gown as well to sync with the other books that have no ribbon. Also, I want to show in the trilogy that there are three books plus a bonus available inside the book, so that's why I'm moving away from a single picture for the front cover. Your comments are welcome. I'm going to show all three stages of development: old, newer, and newest, and I'd love your input. Thanks! Please feel free to comment below. Please comment below. Thanks! ~Ellise

Just an update to let you all know that I'm still waiting for all the beta-readers to turn in their reviews. I can't publish until I know that I've fixed all the issues. For those of you who have already read the Pre-Launch Special, you're lucky because there have already been changes to the beginning five chapters, so you'll get to read both versions of the story. :) I really needed to publish in June, but I'm not sure that it'll happen. That is the way of things sometimes. I'll still try for the Kindle version this month, but if not, Pirate Bride will be published just as soon as possible in all formats. I truly appreciate all my readers! And all my beta-readers have gone above and beyond! Thank you so very much! I'm actually going to put out a large print version in a dust jacket form, but that'll come after all the rest. For now, I'm right there with you...waiting. I hate waiting... :D But the end result, I hope, will be worth it. Thanks for your patience! And while you are all waiting, you might enjoy one of my favorite reads by Victoria Holt--The Captive. Here's the link! Happy Reading! ~Ellise It's officially sent! I just did it! Pirate Bride is now in the hands of beta-readers everywhere! I'm excited to see what they think of it and if it measures up. Hopefully still, I can get this book published this month. That is the goal, but I've asked a lot of my readers, I know. So I'll give them the time they need. Now...for the first chapter of Elspeth Was Her Name... It's being created as we speak. I will debut that novel at the end of Pirate Bride. :) Happy Reading! I can't believe its already June! Holy Cow! Where has the time flown? Kids are out of school, all except my homeschooler, which we are behind since Devin's heart attack, etc., etc. So, the both of us are still in school. Ugh. I feel his pain--deeply! However, the good news is that there are only 18 more days until Pirate Bride is scheduled to be released. (Tentative release date is scheduled for June 25th!) Not sure if that will come true, for I'm still working on it and have yet to send it off to beta-readers and get their comments back. The cover is finished, but there are always formatting issues at the last minute. I'm getting pretty excited about showing it off. :D So...here's to Summer 2014! Enjoy! Ellise Now that I have shared each volume of The Governess for free over the last three months, I am ready to share the final chapters that are only available in this novella, The Governess Novella #1, as well as in the trilogy. If you have not yet read any of The Governess, just save this final volume until last. But get it now while its FREE! Click here to find your link for Saturday, May 31, 2014, or find the dates that it will be available in June here. And watch for Pirate Bride hopefully coming June 20th of 2014 as well. If you haven't already signed up for the New Book Release mailing list, or Pre-Launch Specials, do so today here! Happy Reading! Ellise Yes! It's near that time! I'm so excited to share Pirate Bride soon! But before I can, I need some Beta-Readers out there to sign up! You will be the first readers to read Pirate Bride. I need feedback on (let me think...) -- everything! Grammar, spelling, punctuation, but more importantly: does the story work? Where did you get lost? Was it confusing? Did you like it or not? Please sign up in the 'Comments' section to let me know if you are interested. Or you can email me. Click on the link at the top of the page for my email address. I will let those I choose know when I am ready for your help. Thanks! Ellise :) I used to share snippets from The Governess on my BlogSpot twice a week, kind of like a weekly soap opera, but stopped when there were hints of people copying my work. *sigh* So it's scary to share snippets from Pirate Bride because I worry about the same thing. Authors toil long hours to produce something that might entice readers to read their hard work. Not for it to be stolen. I hope I can entice those of you waiting for the sequel with this little tidbit. Pirate Bride is getting closer to being released this spring. I worried that I wouldn't make my deadline, but hope has been restored. :) ...I hope... I've enjoyed rereading early chapters and thought I might share a snippet with you. Shhh! Only share with those you trust... Hope you all enjoy! Ellise~ A snippet from Chapter 4 ~Vanished
Late that evening, as Susannah walked to her room, she saw an elegant lady and an old English wolf hound walking in the corridor away from her. Would she not have met this guest at supper, she thought, oddly? Curious still, she slowed her pace and looked behind her as an eerie feeling crept along the hall making her shiver. Catching her breath, she could almost smell something. Was it floral…and spice? Looking back to where the lady and her dog walked, she noticed how the lady turned, looking over her shoulder at Susannah, her black Spanish tiara and veil stunning against her red gown. But, before she could turn the corner, she and the hound vanished. Sucking in a breath, Susannah stopped short, breathing hard, reaching a steadying hand to the cold stone wall. Feeling faint, she closed her eyes a moment to even her breathing. The eerie feeling dissipated only to leave behind a longing sense of sadness, loneliness, and despair. Was she losing her mind? So...here I am at my writer's retreat, actually connected to the internet for however many minutes it will decide to be connected. But honestly, the only reason I've needed internet is to stay in touch with my family, because there is no phone service here. Anyhoo...it's been actually kind of cool to be restricted from the outside world up here in the mountains of Heber City, Utah, writing to my heart's content with 20ish other writers. It's been awesome!! We write and write and write. So far, I've written 7,386 words that I've actually remembered to count. We have contests, sprints, prizes, and yummy food. It's been so amazing to be so focused. I've been able to finish all the new chapters for The Governess that I'm hoping to release this month, November 2013. I can't do the fancy stuff on this computer since it's different than mine, but I'll do that at home when I have a chance. I'll be working on a new cover as well, but most likely reuse one of them, but just add some stuff. Not really sure yet, since I'm still learning to do that myself. I hate bothering people. I learned some stuff about creating covers but it all still leads mainly to paying for someone to do it for you. I'm still poor enough that I'll keep it close to home. *sigh* But...someday... :) I'm now working diligently on Pirate Bride. Guess what!! It's so fun!!! I love writing when I get to do it like this!! I love creating stories and characters and adventures. I'm also thrilled to compare my skills and writing and sales with other authors. Its been a real treat to see how well I actually am doing. It's been great incentive to keep doing what I love. Writing! So hang on to your britches, the stories are coming. I'm hoping that I'll have more time again once I get home. I'll just have to be creative and schedule time wisely. (And probably significantly shorten the length of them.) Here's to more dreams, folks! So dream on. Hugs, Ellise P.S. I sure miss my family though! Love you! I'm happy to say that Volume Three has done well this first week since it's release. In the UK, Volume Three is at #1! YAY!! Volume Two is at #3, and Volume One is at #11. In the US, Volume Three was at #3 last night, but is now at #6. I'm still thrilled with that; any day of the week, in fact! Volume Two is at #8 while Volume One is at #12. All good numbers, and I'm thrilled to be on the first page of Religious Romance Fiction on any chart out there. Hooray for Christian Romance! I'm in the process of assisting a few other authors with their projects (my friend, my sister, my husband, and my son--a fourth grader last year who wants to compile all his writings and drawings into a book before school starts. I'm thrilled!). But as soon as I'm finished with those projects, I'll be busily typing away at Pirate Bride's creation. Progress is always being made, thus bringing me closer to publishing new books in The Huntington Saga series novels. Pirate Bride is scheduled for release spring of 2014. I'll be thrilled to be working on that project! Woohoo! In the meantime, if you are looking for good authors out there with good stories, visit my bookshelf, either on GoodReads or on Shelfari. I've read some amazing books over the years, some more satisfying than others, but they have driven me to share my own creative writings. Have a happy day, everyone! Ellise Yes, there is still work to be done on Volume Three of The Governess, but it is coming along nicely. My beta-readers are reading right now and will be back to me shortly with any needed changes to the content. Yay for readers! You have all be so amazing to comment on my website and on the online bookstores where you purchased your copies, so thank you! It means a lot to me that you would all take the time to do so. It also improves my chances of becoming better known out there in the millions of books available to be read by everyone. There is such a pile to be read, isn't there!?! So thank you for any help I've received! :)
So get ready all you romantics out there for a new adventure with me as I we move ahead into Pirate Bride -- Book Two in The Huntington Saga series novels. :) Happy Reading everyone! Ellise~ Hello Readers,
I'm just a little curious about having an accessible Blog here on my website. I'm wondering if people will ask questions and make comments about my work. Curiosity killed the cat, but I'm hoping it will only enliven my writing experience with my readers. :) Please join in on the discussion. Do you have any questions? Happy reading and writing to us all! ~Ellise |
